Really impressive, especially for such a small place. The food was all perfect. The margaritas, made with agave wine instead of tequila are really tasty, more mellow than your standard overly-tart margarita. Really hope to come back.

Definitely worth going if you are in the area. The food is flavorful with heat. Feels like a local, inexpensive taqueria, which is exactly what it is. But, somehow is missing some of the energy. Service is adequate. Finding inexpensive food in Santa Fe can be challenging, and this place delivers.

El Comal (flat iron, griddle) is in a very unassuming strip center. Not much to look at from the outside and has a very homey low key decor. The food is authentic New Mexico and it is simply magnificent! We were passing thru Santa Fe and wanted to try New Mexico dishes and chose this spot for its reviews we've read. So glad we did. I had the shredded beef sopapilla with both red and green chili sauce (Santa Fe Christmas style), amazing. If in the area, please stop by and try it yourself!

first time visit, certainly not the last. This is a small unassuming place with great service and great food and great prices. Definitely recommend. It is a little tiny tricky to find but well worth the effort. BTW, apparently you can bring your dog into the restaurant because I saw a group come in with a good size dog probably at least 50 pounds. Hunky-dory with me, I love dogs and love any place that allows them.

I would definitely recommend this place! Everything is fresh The service is great The people are so nice And I loved the food And I'm from out of town, so I was really surprised for it to be so great also it's very inexpensive

Absolutely amazing food. So much flavor. Great price! My husband had the chicken taco salad and I can say that it was the freshest ingredients I've ever seen in the chicken taco salad. I had the veggie Sopailla. Great service! The restaurant is in a strip center, and it's not much to write home about, but the food overcomes that!!

Found this place on Yelp and it didn't disappoint. The chili was pretty spicy but it was delicious!. The service was great! Our coffee was always being topped off. The restaurant was small and cozy but liked how quick a party of six was accommodated. The sopapillos are must! Especially with honey!

In Santa Fe, hungry, want to avoid peak traffic & love Mexican food. Sounds like a perfect reason to stop here. Buried in a non-descript strip mall we found the door and entered. Another bonus it's a hole in the wall. Grabbed a table and our server shows up with menus & chips and salsa. Lots to choose from on the menu. I zero in on the chimichanga, with the carne adovada plate. Our food came out in no time. The Chimi was huge - simple ingredients: meat & tortilla. Red on the side - nicely hot, but lacking that smoky flavor. In additions to the usual staples on the plate there was an excellent pico de gallo. Arguably the best I've had since leaving TX and better than some I've had there. The carne adovada plate had a generous amount of meat immersed in the red sauce. The pork was tender and shredded easily. Not a fan of the flour tortilla that came with it. It was the thick cakey type. The sopapilla that came with mine was huge - light & soft with flaky exterior. Food was reasonably priced for the quantity. Definitely a hole in the wall gem.

Last visit to Santa Fe, El Comal was a bright spot amidst our foodie journey. Returning to Santa Fe again, we knew they were a must eat! This visit, I opted for the chili relleno, my husband the huevos rancheros, chicken taco for my daughter, and extra sopapillas for the table- Again, the largest, fluffiest sopapillas- warm, thick, poofy, delicious flavor-one of the more notable sopapillas in my entire NM visit The meal itself made me feel like I was eating an authentic home cooked meal, where everything was cooked with love. They did not skimp on ingredients or quality. Smothered upon smothered with cheese and chili, big pieces of meat in the taco, and delicious crispy chips & salsa irresistible always a must visit!

Don't be fooled by the look of this restaurant. Top class food of New Mexico style food. We had a combo each and it includes everything we wanted including carne adovada, which is such a delight!!! Margaritas was similar to what you get in Mexico, very good. It's not sour or too sweet, just the right balance. The price for food and drink was very reasonable compared to what you might pay in downtown area. It came with sopapilla. It was god but we were so full that we took some home. Next morning we had it for breakfast but it got so tough even after microwave. We suspect it might.... At least we enjoyed it yesterday. We are very happy to find this hole in a wall restaurant. We highly recommend this eatery!!!
